‘Owyhee Bends’

The Owyhee Canyonlands are a unique crevice within the Earth, at a glance can be viewed as desolate and barren, yet at a closer look is blooming with life. A day spent in the Owyhee River's solace is well spent. It is the essence of a place untouched that is worth it all. Owyhee is engrained with history, has been the home of the Piaute Tribe for centuries & must be protected to ensure our children can enjoy its beauty.
The inspiration for this piece comes from the many hours I have spent personally fly fishing in the Owyhee River, just below the dam. Experiences feeling my body swayed by the currents of the river, watching as brown trout swim below. Doe White Tail Deer enjoying their evening snacks off of the riparian plants that line the banks of the Owyhee River. Each visit is an intimate journey into nature.
