Made out of red oak and basswood, the earrings are laser cut and engraved out of three shapes, and then assembled together. For a bit of a modern edge I hand painted the the circle black (which has been sealed), with basswood as the half circle, and red oak as the elongated rainbow.
I wanted to create another item outside of my comfort zone, and I hope that you will enjoy the outcome as much as I have. Since I have used red oak, and basswood, the earrings are lightweight enough to wear all day long (and from experience, now that my children don't pull on my jewelry anymore), I can wear them, and forget I am wearing them with how lightweight they are. You'll seriously forget that you are wearing them, that is how lightweight they are. For longevity and wear, I have sealed the earrings to protect the wood and paint.
